Malvern, Pa. — Once again Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has made it clear who is the technology leader in the thin-film passive components market with the introduction of its MP series of precision thin-film resistor divider networks. Vishay said these are the first resistor divider networks to offer a 0.05% resistance ratio tolerance in an ultra-small SC-70 package. These devices are designed for use in instrumentation amplifiers, precision voltage dividers, and bridge network circuitry.

Combining small size with a low ratio tolerance, these divider resistor networks provide an alternative to larger-format devices packaged in the SOT-23 or SOT-143 case sizes. Optimized for industrial control systems, handheld instruments such as portable measuring devices for diagnostics, and other end systems requiring precision resistor pairs with small dimensions, these surface-mount devices provide precision tolerances down to 0.05% in the industry's smallest standard package.

The MP devices are available as isolated matched-pair or center-tapped resistor divider networks in 3-lead (MP3) or 4-lead (MP4) standard molded SC-70 packages with maximum dimensions of 2.200 x 1.350 mm with a height profile of 1.100 mm. The new networks feature low temperature coefficient ratio (TCR) tracking of &plusmn2 ppm/&degC and resistance values ranging from 1 kilohm to 10 kilohms per resistor. Custom designs are available for applications requiring non-standard ratios, and custom resistance values are available to 50 kilohms.

Each network is specified for a TCR value of &plusmn25 ppm/&degC and a power rating of 0.075 W per resistor or 0.150 W for the package. A TAMELOX (passivated nichrome) resistive layer enhances stability with long-term stability rated for 500 ppm at 70&degC for 2,000 hours. Shelf-life stability is specified at less than 100 ppm at 25&degC for one year. The operating temperature range is -55&degC to 125&degC.

South Portland, Maine — August 2, 2004 — Fairchild Semiconductor announces the FXL4T245BQX (4-bit bi-directional) and FXL5T244BQX (5-bit uni-directional) low-voltage logic-level translators in DQFN packaging. Designed for cell phones, notebooks and other battery-powered portable devices, CMOS-based FXL series translators enable interconnection between a lower voltage microprocessor and higher voltage ASIC functions. The FXL4T245BQX and FXL5T244BQX provide space-efficient level translation between the 2.5-3.3 V I/Os of 3-, 4-, and 5-bit memory modules such as in Memory Stick or Secure Digital (SD) card applications, and the frequently lower voltage I/Os of the processor chip set.

Both translators feature configurable voltage supplies (VCCA and VCCB) for the inputs and outputs allowing translation in either direction, between typical logic levels of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V and 3.3V. Power consumption is kept low by a quiescent current (ICC) specification of 20 uA max.

The BSTE8-700 Series is equipped with a dielectric feedhorn with 40mm in diameter. It requires a supply voltage of 11.5V to 19V and has a reception frequency in low (10.7GHz to 11.7GHz) and high band (11.7GHz to 12.75GHz). The conversion stage of the LNB uses low phase noise local oscillators based on well-established frequencies of 9.75GHz and 10.6GH, being controlled by 22kHz signal. To switch between vertical and horizontal polarisation, a 14/18V voltage is applied.
